Real-Time Global Illumination of Deformable Objects
Existing real-time rendering methods for global illumination use precomputation to simplify runtime computations, but constrain scene geometry to be rigid. This constraint greatly restricts the practical application of these techniques to interactive graphics. This research uses a data-driven approach to support real-time rendering of global illumination effects on deformable surfaces under low...
متن کاملReal-Time Global Illumination on GPU
We present a system for computing plausible global illumination solution for dynamic environments in real time on programmable graphics processors (GPUs). We designed a progressive global illumination algorithm to simulate multiple bounces of light on the surfaces of synthetic scenes. The entire algorithm runs on ATI’s Radeon 9800 using vertex and fragment shaders, and computes global illuminat...
متن کاملReal-Time Global Illumination in Point Clouds
In this paper we present a real-time global illumination approach for illuminating scenes containing huge point clouds. Our GI approach is based upon the distribution of Virtual Point Lights (VPLs) in the scene, which are then used for the indirect illumination of the scene geometry, using Imperfect Shadow Maps for visibility calculation of the VPLs. We are able to render multiple indirect ligh...
متن کاملA PCA Decomposition for Real-time BRDF Editing and Relighting with Global Illumination
We propose a novel rendering method which supports interactive BRDF editing as well as relighting on a 3D scene. For interactive BRDF editing, we linearize an analytic BRDF model with basis BRDFs obtained from a principal component analysis. For each basis BRDF, the radiance transfer is precomputed and stored in vector form. In rendering time, illumination of a point is computed by multiplying ...
متن کاملReal-Time Global Illumination for Games using Topological Information
Indirect Illumination is a key element to achieve realistic rendering. Unfortunately, since computing this effect is costly, there are few methods that render it with real-time frame rates. In this paper we present a new method based on virtual point lights and topological information about the scene to render indirect illumination in real-time. Keywordsreal time rendering, global illumination,...
